256 Thousand Cubic Meters of Timber Products Have Been Shipped From the Territory of the Tomsk Region Under the Control of Rosselkhoznadzor Specialists

Since the beginning of 2023, 255.9 thousand cubic meters have been shipped from the territory of the Tomsk Region under the control of Rosselkhoznadzor specialists. m of timber, of which the bulk was intended for export. The Republics of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, as well as the People’s Republic of China are marked by the department as the main importing states.

Thus, 250.8 thousand cubic meters of sawn timber were shipped from the region, 43% of which was issued to Uzbek recipients, 28% to China, 15% to Kyrgyzstan, 10% to Kazakhstan, 3% to Tajikistan. About 1,385 cu. m of the export volume of timber products (1%) was sent to Vietnam, Azerbaijan, Iraq, Belarus and Afghanistan. 

The Republic of Kazakhstan and the People’s Republic of China are also importers of roundwood, where 2.9 and 2 thousand cubic meters were shipped, respectively, during the first calendar quarter. In addition, 1.3 cu. m of “round timber” was sent to Uzbekistan.

Another 2,465 units of wood packaging material were also destined for recipients from Kazakhstan and China – 2,244 and 221, respectively.

It should be noted that in preparation for export, all batches of forest products underwent a certification procedure to confirm phytosanitary well-being. The studies were carried out on the basis of the Tomsk branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “VNIIKR” subordinate to Rosselkhoznadzor – the central Russian laboratory for plant quarantine of international importance. Thus, in the first quarter of 2023, the total volume of forest products infected with quarantine pests, not allowed for export shipments and for movement through the territory of the Russian Federation, amounted to 8,441.6 cubic meters. These are 35 cases of large black spruce barbel, 31 small black spruce barbel, 24 black pine barbel and 1 velvet-spotted barbel. Infected consignments were not allowed to transport, and shippers were ordered to take measures to deprive the viability of quarantine objects,
