After the meeting and negotiations of the highest level between Tajikistan and Iran and the ceremony of signing of new documents of cooperation the heads of state, Emomali Rahmon and Sayyid Ebrahim Raisi, held a press conference.

IRNA reports that referring to the existing capacities and experiences in the fields of energy, agriculture, industry, and mines, Raisi noted at a press conference with his Tajik counterpart that Iran is ready to share the experiences with Tajikistan.

Elsewhere in his remarks, President Raisi underlined that “Palestine today is the top issue of the Islamic world and humanity”.

He reiterated that the Islamic Republic of Iran calls for the immediate ending of attacks on Gaza and the massacre of civilians.

Emomali Rahmon, for his part, reportedly welcomed the expansion of cooperation in various fields with Iran, noting that signing bilateral documents between Iran and Tajikistan will enhance the level of cooperation.

He added that historical common ground would expand cooperation between the two countries, according to IRNA.

Meanwhile, Eurasianet says that while the statement from Rahmon’s office on talks with Raisi was limited to vaguely outlined generalities, the Iranian leader’s remarks to journalists hinted at a markedly anti-U.S. exchange.

“Both [our] countries are concerned about the dear people of Afghanistan, and we believe that the Americans, after two decades of occupying this country, have left nothing but destruction, murder, killing and backwardness for Afghanistan,” he said, according to Eurasianet.
