India Appoints Rajesh Uike as Ambassador to Tajikistan

India has appointed Rajesh Uike, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), as its next Ambassador to Tajikistan.

He is expected to take up his new assignment shortly, a MEA notification said here recently.

During his career in Indian foreign ministry, he served as Counsellor (Political and Information) at Indian High Commission in Dhaka, Bangladesh from 2015-2019 and Deputy Chief of Mission (MCM) in Indian Embassy in Hanoi, Vietnam from 2019-2020.  

Hailing from the Indian state of Chhattisgarh, Rajesh did his masters from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi and joined the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) in 2006.
