Quarantine phytosanitary control, which has been active at checkpoints across the state border of Russia since January 1, 2023, was recently carried out by employees of the Rosselkhoznadzor department in the Orenburg region.

They also control the import of products at other phytosanitary control posts, temporary storage warehouses, and delivery points concerning imported regulated products. The goods mainly come from neighboring countries such as Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan, as well as China.

According to the Office of the Service, the volume of imported quarantine products increased by 49% compared to the same period last year.

Among the incoming products, 943.1 tons of fruit were singled out, and 1148.2 tons of vegetables. After the check, they were allowed to be imported into Russia for sale at local retail outlets. However, the cargo of walnuts was not so lucky. Twenty-two tons of nuts were turned back due to the fact that the accompanying phytosanitary certificate was invalid.
